Basic First Aid

 

Program Overview

 

This program provides participants with the skills and knowledge required to provide essential first aid in recognising and responding to an emergency using basic life support measures.

 

Program Outcomes

 

Participants will be able to demonstrate their competency in the following areas

 

· Assess the situation

· Apply basic first aid techniques

· Communicate details of the incident

 

Program Content

 

This program will involve training in:

 

· Assessing the situation

· Bites and stings

· Bleeding and wound care

· Breathing emergencies including choking and asthma

· Burns and scalds

· Care of the unconscious person

· Chain of survival

· CPR in special circumstances

· Demonstrating the use of an automated external defibrillator

· Infection control

· Performing CPR

· Reporting procedures

· Severe allergic reaction

· Shock

· Signs of life

· Special techniques for children and infants

Program Details

 

Duration: 8 hours

 

Delivery: This program can be delivered off-job, during office hours, at your facilities or ours

 

Cost:  $95.00 per person
